چکیده
Tubercular dactylitis or spina ventosa is the tubercular infection of phalanges, metacarpals and metatarsals termed after cystic swelling short tubular bones by infection. Here we presented two rare cases in a 10 years old female 16 male patients. In both there was digits with stiffness. The radiographs were suggestive chronic osteolytic cortical destruction diffuse sclerosis. We managed them adequate surgical debridement, splintage anti-tubercular therapy good functional recovery. Spina condition often missed on diagnosis due to vague non-specific presentation, unavailability rapid diagnostic tests can be confused other mimicking diseases. Any over small hand feet should raise suspicion ventosa, especially endemic countries for tuberculosis. neglected infections, curettage followed based histo-pathological reports treatment choice high protein diet vitamin D supplementation ensures outcome.

A Rare Case of Chondromyxoid Fibroma Mimicking Spina Ventosa
Chondromyxoid fibroma (CMF) is perhaps the rarest of all bone tumors. Classically it occurs in the metaphyseal region of the long bones surrounding the knee. The small bones of the feet are also commonly involved. But CMF occurring in small bones of the hand, however, is very uncommon. Tuberculous dactylitis is referred to as spina ventosa. The bones of the hands are more frequently affected th...

متن کاملUnusual stress fractures of the proximal phalanx of the great toe: a report of two cases.
Stress fractures of the toes are rare. Most reported fractures of the proximal phalanx of the great toe have been associated with halux valgus deformity. Two cases are presented that illustrate several unique features of this rare injury which have not been reported before. One of the cases went on to non-union, requiring bone grafting and internal fixation.

The incidence of nonunion in phalangeal fractures is less than 1% [1-4]. Management of unstable digital fractures of hand is difficult and results are not always satisfactory [5]. We present two cases of neglected fractures in proximal phalanx of thumb that presented with nonunion. Only two previous articles talked about nonunion in proximal phalanx of thumb [6,7]. Our aim was to achieve a join...

Tuberculous infection of metacarpals, metatarsals and phalanges is known as tuberculous dactylitis. There is a spindle shaped expansion of the short tubular bones due to tuberculous granuloma. Hence it is also known as spina ventosa.
